Roger Essex has spent nearly three decades mastering the art of stonework and landscape design. A graduate of Merrist Wood College in Surrey, England, he gained early recognition by constructing two award-winning gardens at the world-renowned Chelsea Flower Show. After honing his craft with a premier London landscape construction firm, Essex brought his expertise across the Atlantic to Chicago, where he founded London Stoneworks. For over two decades, he has been transforming outdoor spaces throughout the Chicago area, combining Old World craftsmanship with contemporary design sensibilities. In 2024, Essex relocated to Granger to be near his wife's family, establishing a new Indiana base and a focus on providing services to NWI.

I hired Roger over 6 years ago to transform my backyard from an overgrown rat-infested space to an urban oasis. He did not disappoint. He is a true professional and artisan. He never stopped seeing ways to improve on the original design.

Roger did an AMAZING job on our patio!! We had no idea what we wanted, just that it needed to be redone and he was so helpful in recommending what materials we should go with, patterns for the stone, etc. He was super easy to work with and the end product is fantastic. Couldn't be happier.
